Universal Remote Control TV

Universal Remote Control TV

Review

What’s worse than looking for a lost remote control on game night? Nothing. But don’t worry, you have options. Universal Remote Control TV gives you the ability to control your smart TV by simply using your smartphone or tablet.

Interface 4/5

The UR control is effective with both C-series and D-series smart televisions. The UR control works in pretty much the same way as a normal remote control. The app doesn’t need external controllers or hardware in order to use it. Smart TVs from 2010 which are Internet-enabled and models from 2011 with the AllShare feature will all support Universal Remote Control TV.

It also supports Blue Ray Disc players from 2011 with the SmartHub feature. The app needs a mobile device with an IR port and blaster.

Features 5/5

Universal Remote Control TV is a powerful tool that will make sure you always watch what you want when you want it at your convenience. In this age when everything is moving in the ‘Smart’ direction, your TV and other media players should not be left behind.

The remote control works in pretty much the same way as a normal remote control. It has the following features:

  • Channel buttons, both up and down;
  • Power on/off button;
  • AV/TV buttons;
  • Menu buttons with up, down, left and right controls;
  • Volume up/down buttons;
  • Soft keys (Red, green, blue, yellow) for multipurpose use;
  • Mute/Unmute buttons;
  • OK button;
  • Select TV button;
  • Input button;
  • Smart sharing feature for your photos, media files such as videos, and for listening to music;
  • Compatibility with regular remote controls, so you can use both simultaneously if need be;
  • Easy navigation with a simple yet elegant design.

Usability 4/5

Universal Remote Control TV is quite simple to use, with a stylish and sleek interface design that is highly intuitive, much like your regular remote. Except with this app, you never have to worry about where the dog hid the remote, or why it has conveniently disappeared when you need it most. Note that you have to get both your Smart TV and the app on the same Wi-Fi network for it to work.

Compatibility 4/5

The UR control works with the following devices:

  • Vizio;
  • Samsung;
  • LG;
  • SONY;
  • Funai;
  • Maxent;
  • Hisense;
  • RCA ;
  • Sanyo;
  • Akai;
  • Sharp Panasonic;
  • Android TV;
  • Google Chromecast;
  • Blue Ray Disc players.

The app needs a control device with an IR blaster. Otherwise, it won’t work.

Summary

The app is great, especially if you have tons of Smart devices in your living room or house. For those moments when you can’t seem to find your remote control or when you have too many remotes to deal with, this is the ideal app for you. It is simple and easy to use and has the feel of any old remote control that you are used to. Get Universal Remote Control TV for instant and futuristic experience.

If you want to move away from the regular disadvantages of conventional, battery-controlled remotes, you should give this app a try.
